My three greatest attributes are a strong character, a fierce competitor, and a strong determination. Throughout my life these characteristics have embodied me as a person and contributed to my success.
First, my character has been on display throughout high school and carrying on through college. As a high schooler I received several coveted character awards that were given selectively to only one male student per year and was voted on by the faculty and staff. Furthermore, my teammates acknowledged my character by repeatedly voting me captain of the soccer team. This characteristic has continued on throughout college as I have received leadership recognition with my team and coach and thrive as a collegiate athlete.
I am also a fierce competitor. Competition has fueled my drive and marked me as a person for most of my life. Competition has not only contributed to my success as an athlete but also grew me as a student. I have worked hard as a student and athlete and have been recognized as an honor student and all conference academic athlete.
Finally, I am someone who has had to overcome obstacles in my life which has molded my long term success. For example, I was diagnosed with dyslexia. This diagnosis did not discourage me, but rather fired me up to overcome. I took this as a challenge and fought hard to overcome this diagnosis. I personally chose to flip this from a disability to a strength. I personally volunteered to speak on this publicly as the featured speaker educating the rest of the school on the diagnosis. I learned to adapt and overcome dyslexia and am proud to receive academic honors at my college.
