  • About half my time was spent on and off as a fitter only, we had night shift welders that would weld out our projects for us at times. Other half of my time was spent welding out my own projects to be able to complete it start to finish on my own.
  • This was a heat exchanger shop, so I built a variety of different things, including stacks and vessels.
  • Used an acetelyne and plasma torch to cut out parts out of different thicknesses of metals.
  • Used 50-75 ton cranes to move projects out to the sand blasting area.
  • Used a variety of different equipment to move material as needed.
  • Used special made dogs and wedges to fit material together to be able to tac it.
  • Almost entirely welded with mig/flux at this shop.
