Wire Technician

  • I work in the layout process and have worked in the wiring process were I am responsible for checking the pick list of parts that inventory brings out to make sure we have the correct number of components and that they are for that specific bungalow witch ranges from (6x6) to (10x12) in size
  • I also am responsible for reading blueprints given to us by our customer to determine were wires must be ran and terminated at their specific piece of equipment and what components are needed to be installed on any specific wall such as A wall, B wall, C wall and D wall
  • On D wall it is a metal wall with columns and i am responsible for building up and mounting the board witch consists of equalizers, straps, flat nuts, washers, crown nuts, gold nuts
  • I go by print to determine how many boards i need for each column and how many of those boards need equalizers or spares for wiring process to terminate their wires in a later process
  • I then mount panduit to the wall with zip ties so wiring can keep their wires neat and straight
  • The other 3 walls have insulation and are covered by drywall and based on the print tells how much panduit i have to measure, cut, mount and level to the wall because of were each component is located
  • I also have to mount and level each of the components to their desired location if any changers are made to the blueprints i would yellow it out and write its new location in red
  • I would also drill holes through the metal bungalows to install P.O
  • Lights and drill holes into metal battery trays so i can mount them so they would be safe for shipping
  • I would also run wire through conduit from the Health to the POR then strip the wire and install it to the desired twist lock outlet
  • I also would rewire the breaker box wires that went to the twist locks and have to run new wire through conduit after measuring it and cutting it to size
  • I also would have to install the EPD to the breaker box by screwing it into it and then running its wires to the specific breaker it needed to go to based on my prints
  • I also would run ground wires to the DC Converters, Radios, Amplifiers, Cisco's and chassis witch held circuit boards that i install in its location stated by my blueprints and terminated each ground wire to the ground studs
  • I would also build plugswitch included me striping and terminating the wire to the inside of the plug and terminating it to the battery charger
  • I would also build relays and solder wires together then strip them and crimp them to install on the back of the relay
  • I would then would fill out my check sheet that double check my work to make sure everything was done correctly and was of high quality then i would fill out a piece of paper work that i would give to inventory that stated how many feet of panduit i used
  • I would print out ground tags, relay tags, wall tags and the breaker label for the bungalow and make sure each wire, component and board was labeled correctly
  • Reduced service downtime by promptly addressing and resolving wire connectivity problems.

  • I would inspect rotors, knuckles, carriers, 41's, 38's diff case and aluminum knuckles for any defects such as scratches, dents, Porosity, blocked fins, no clean up, cold shut and light/heavy paint
  • I would put certain parts on CMM machines and run their specific program that remeasured the parts as well as printed out the measurements
  • I would also use many different gauges to measure and record the parts dimensions to ensure that the part was within standards called QC's or to sort and contain bad parts from good ones
  • I also certified trucks witch would take our products to the customers
  • I also did inline sorts were i would do reports about how,why, when and where the problem accrued when production lines made bad parts
  • I traveled to different customers if they had an issue with parts and sorted them at the customers Warehouse or facility and kept track of all the money used by receipts and would organize the information to give to my supervisor
  • I knew how to run all the rotor lines in 2 different zones and would ran 2 production lines at the same time
  • I was required to do tool changes and change inserts in each ls consisting of 4-6 inserts out of 4 LS's and inspect if any damages were done to the spacer and tool holder
  • I reset/re-calibrate the lines TS and balancer's, replace empty raw tubs with full ones into the lines loaders, change out chip carts, refill and maintain all oil levels for the lube lines, hydraulic line and air line on both lines for the LS's, Balancers, Drills, Grinder and TS
  • I checked parts on both lines every 20 pieces recording what time I did them and on every 110 pieces I had to do a 100% check/QC for that line
  • I would also fix abnormal/issues on my lines to keep them running and would call and assist my group leader in fixing the problem
  • I would have to keep track on how many parts I made, how much scrap, how much down time and how many times a problem that caused down occurred
  • I would also have to do rework on parts and take whatever scrap I had to the scrap yard and track if the scrap was machine or foundry
  • I would clean machines, sweep up lines and participate in safety walkthroughs and filled out safety cards when I saw a unsafe hazard
  • I also would run knuckle and carrier manual lines cutting parts in Opts and carrying each part to the next step of the process while, writing on tracking sheet how much i did an hour
  • Also would would work in assembly for the carriers witch put the bushing, spacer and bolt into the part and visually inspecting them to make sure they have been fully assembled then preceded to pack them for the customer
  • Followed safety procedures and guidelines to maintain safe working environments.
  • Made sure that products were produced on time and are of good quality.
