
I have served on the Tunnel Ridge mine rescue team for 12 years and was a map man on the 2023 state championship team.
I have been a benchman since 2022 I have 7 first place finishes including 2024 state and national champion 5 second place finishes and 1 third place finish. I have accomplished taking every opportunity to get any certification and training that I can. The achievement im most proud of is 20 years in the mining industry through proper training and awareness I have never had a lost time accident and one medical treatment.
Job duties include maintaining water at seals, breeders, and sections. I also am responsible for advancing air and discharge pipes with the sections. I have also trained other pumpers on the job explaining hazards and job duties.
Twin boom bolter:
Duties included knowing the roof control plan, checking proper torque on bolts, taking gas test every 20 minutes and being aware of the work environment and the hazards
Full face roof bolter:
Duties included knowing the roof control plan and ventilation, checking torque, and being aware hazards
Miner operator ( integrated bolters):
Duties included safety of everyone working around the miner, knowing the cut plan, performing pre operational checks, ( sprays, water pressure, cable and bits) making sure ventilation controls were with in 10 feet of the face and that the entry was properly rock dusted
30 Ton motorman:
Duties included pre operational checks, being aware of rail conditions, delivering supply trains to sections and equipment moves
General inside labor:
Duties included proper hand tool safety Knowing the hazards and risk at every job performed
Fireboss:
Responsibilities includes pre shifting the mine belts and tracks, checking electrical installations, scsrs, refuge alternatives, examining all areas and filling out pre shift books
Airway examiner:
Dutys include weekly air ways checking for hazards, violations, taking anamometer readings, mag readings at regulators, and checking seals
Emt-m (West Virginia):
Responsibilities include having the proper training and knowledge to be able to provide first-aid to miners:
Shot fire:
Responsibilities include making sure the area is safe and everyone is clear of the area, proper signage is in place, holes are drilled to proper length, after loading holes make sure they are properly stemed, make sure blasting cables are shunted, wire loads in series, checking with a galvanometer, hook to the charge box yell fire 3 times before blasting
Mine rescue trainer(West Virginia):
Responsibilities include helping train the Tunmel Ridge mine rescue team to prepare for completions and incase of a mine emergency
Bio Marine 240 revolution trainer:
I trainer Tunnel Ridge mine rescue team members and benchmen on possible problems with the apparatus for completion and real life experiences
Task training:
I have also have done task training on the joy entry driver miner, the bolters on the entry driver, the joy loading machine, the fletcher twin boom bolter
