Summary

Team-oriented and results-driven sophomore engineering student with a strong academic background in aerospace engineering and hands-on experience gained through coursework. Seeking an internship opportunity to apply my technical skills in structural or aerospace applications. Eager to learn and apply my knowledge of aerospace engineering to real-world applications.

Work History

Boost Assisted Glide Vehicle

01.2024 - Current
  • Modeled, designed, prototyped, and tested a boost assisted glider that utilized pressurized water to generate thrust
  • For our models, we created a MATLAB file that would give us our glide range, apogee, glide velocity at L/D max and sink velocity of the glider
  • This model utilized multiple functions of ours that determined the weight, induced drag, parasite drag, wing geometry, and thrust analysis
  • For the thrust analysis we experimentally captured our data in a static test stand and utilized data analysis to clean and make the data usable
  • Currently our team is working on prototyping two designs that we are going to test in the next couple of weeks

Wing Loading Model

10.2023 - 12.2023
  • Modeled the beam deflection of an airfoil in a wind tunnel
  • Accomplished this by designing our own whiffle tree and creating a model in MATLAB to build our whiffle tree
  • The point of the whiffle tree was to condense a distributed load on a wing to a single point load that we could analyze for deflection
  • Worked on the structural aspect and collaborated with the aerodynamic team to combine our models and get a more accurate beam deflection to what was experienced in the wind tunnel
