Sunrun announced it was acquiring Vivint Solar in July of 2020. I retained my Vivint Solar position at Sunrun.

Job requirements and responsibilities for the Solar PV CAD Designer at Sunrun were the same as at Vivint Solar.

• Created plan sets for PV installation that included: 1-line and 3-line diagrams, mounting system instructions and drawings, PV solar panel layout instructions, electrical equipment installation instructions, and all other cutsheets and code compliance paperwork required by the AHJ.
• Reviewed all site survey photos and measurements submitted by the on site survey team to gather necessary information to produce a PV solar design that would require little or no alteration at time of install.
• Worked with AHJs in Utah, California, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New York to ensure compliance with all local requirements for obtaining a building permit for residential rooftop PV solar installation.
• Collaborated with sales team members to ensure any solar PV installation plan accurately fit the customers energy and financial needs.
• Worked alongside both structural and electrical engineers to create a scope-of-work/installation plan set to ensure safety of both on-site installation teams as well as the customer and their property.
• Received and completed all updates, alterations, or corrections to any plan set requested by the AHJ.
• Reduced errors by performing quality assurance checks on plan sets created by others both employed by or contracted by the company.
• Provided training to junior designers, improving their proficiency in using industry-standard CAD applications and in-house developed design software.
• Managed drafting and design for hundreds of projects from concept through delivery.
