After watching literally hundreds of Youtube videos on machining (many from Haas), I started working in a small machine shop shortly after graduating from high school in 2018 with the passion to create functional parts out of a block of material. Since then, I've learned how to operate surface grinders, 5 Axis CNC's, verticals CNC's, horizontal CNC's, and wire and sinker EDM's. I have also self-learned programming on all the above machines. Machine set-ups have quickly become one of my strong suits as well.
• I worked at both of QSI Automation’s facilities. At their Custom Machining Division in Albion, IN, I was responsible for programming, setting up, and running some of their larger pieces for their fully automated systems. I was machining parts that ranged in size from the size of a penny up to the size of a coffee table. I ran two Haas Machines, a VF-6 and a VM-3.
• I then moved down to their headquarters upon their request and ran two Haas machines, a VM-2 and a TM-2P. Shortly thereafter, I was asked if I could switch over and run two Okuma M560V vertical machining centers. I have been running these since then.
My daily responsibilities include: Programming on Mastercam, Setups, and operating my own machines. As well as maintaining my own machines.
