Fire Chief Jacob Wagner has demonstrated outstanding leadership and administrative excellence throughout his tenure with the Fremont Fire Department. In recognition of his strong leadership skills and significant administrative accomplishments, Chief Wagner was honored with the Stanley Shaffer Award, presented by the President of the Fremont Fire Department.

Over the past five years, Chief Wagner has successfully led and managed the acquisition of nearly $1 million in grant funding for the Fremont Fire Department. His grant leadership has directly strengthened departmental operations, improved firefighter safety, and enhanced emergency response capabilities.

In addition to department-level success, Chief Wagner played a key leadership role in securing a $1 million regional grant for portable radios, significantly improving communications interoperability among area fire departments. This achievement reflects his commitment to regional cooperation and operational readiness.

Chief Wagner was also successful in obtaining a $100,000 grant to construct a small burn building at the Fremont Fire Department.
