  • Oversee and coordinate the University of South Florida’s advising efforts for transfer students on all three campuses, including supervising the advising staff and managing the advising schedule.
  • Work regularly and proactively with personnel in the Florida College System (FCS) to ensure their students have everything they need for an informed and seamless transition to USF.
  • Develop and implement programming, protocols, and messaging to assist recently enrolled transfer students with their successful adjustment to USF academics, community, and culture.
  • Collaborate with campus partners, including the academic colleges, Admissions and the Office of Orientation, to ensure a smooth entry for incoming transfer students.
  • Collect "Major Advising Notes" regularly to keep the advising staff up to date with accurate information.
  • Maintain and utilize available data to assess transfer student success and progression; plus, proactively utilize data to provide recommendations to university leadership.
  • Regularly review the 2-year curriculum plans for transfer students to ensure alignment and smooth transition, noting any identifiable barriers or challenges.
  • Website Management along with the Director of OTSS.
  • Facilitate academic and cognitive assessments to provide resource referrals according to individualized needs.
  • Cultivated online advising workshops for transfer students to expand access to advising services to students across the country.
  • Create guidelines and protocols to collect and assess data gathering methods for validity and reliability purposes in working with transfer students.
  • Devised mass email communication via newsletter to the USF transfer community which includes students, faculty, and staff.
  • Representative for transfer student success on various committees such as Transfer Student Success Council, BOG Initiatives, OneUSF Transfer Team, and more.
  • Manage the Fuse program, which is a bridge program from 8 state/community colleges in the FCS to USF, with over 2,500 students currently in the program.

Academic Foundations (SLS 2901)

  • SLS 2901 is a three-credit, discussion-based introductory seminar designed to facilitate students' successful acclimation to the university, development of academic strategies, and exploration of careers and majors. The course aims to prepare students for a successful college experience and provides students with the necessary knowledge and experiences to be academically and personally successful at the university. In addition, supervision of Teaching Assistants throughout the course.

Foundations of Interdisciplinary Knowledge and Inquiry (IDS 2378)

  • IDS 2378 is a three-credit hour general education course. Aims to build on the knowledge that students bring from high school or other academic or life experiences, and to prepare them for their future courses within the general education curriculum and their major coursework. This class prepares students to think creatively and solve problems within and across disciplines & is University of South Florida's General Education Curriculum.
