I currently work as the Resource Sped teacher for Marfa ISD for grades 7-12. I have a total of 18 students but have two in resource and the rest come in for content mastery as we are short staffed at this school district. I assist students based off of their IEP's in accommodating them with tests and daily work. Mostly they need accommodations such as small group and reading aloud questions/test questions. I am also responsible for their ARD meetings, gathering paperwork from Gen Ed teachers, contacting parents, writing goals, and progress reports.
As a pre-k teacher for Kelso Elementary I worked with a cooperating teacher whom was employed with an outside agency. We had a class ranging from 15-20 students and helped create a environment for students to grow each and every day. I helped our team write science and social studies lesson plans using the Frogstreet curriculum.
In this position I was strictly content mastery where students would come to my room for assistance in completing their work or accommodations for tests and quizzes. I did Ard meetings along with filling out plaafps, goals, and progress reports.
In this position I taught a self contained classroom of 16. For our team I wrote social studies lesson plans and implemented the other lessons written by the team into the daily schedule. We used TEKS resource system to help guide us in writing our lessons.
