Work History

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Private Practice Direct
Palo Alto

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in California

Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy I assist clients in addressing issues of concern and/or distress.

My philosophy is that the physical, emotional, and psychological rules that we develop in childhood, become the filters through which we view the world. When, for a variety of reasons, those rules have not been updated to match changing circumstances, they can lead to distortions and dysfunction of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Using Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy, clients have the opportunity to identify, eliminate, and/or update old rules for healthier levels of functioning.

I have taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology including "Abnormal Psychology", "The Psychology of Prejudice", "Substance Abuse Among Minority Populations", and “Working Effectively with People of Color.”

In addition to maintaining a private practice in which I conduct individual and couple psychotherapy, I have consulted locally, nationally, and internationally. Agencies, organizations, and institutions have used my consultation services in the areas of mediation, organizational development, executive coaching and development, achieving and working effectively with diverse populations, strategic planning, conflict resolution, communication skills training, and substance abuse.
