Coordinate planning and design of Division 12 managed transportation projects. Provide oversight and guidance to municipalities and local governments on all locally administered projects from design thru construction and final acceptance by FHWA. Coordinate planning, programming, programming, environmental documentation, design, right of way acquisition, funding, construction authorization and project construction. Supervise, lead, motivate, counsel, develop project engineers and technicians. Maintain positive working relationship with environmental agencies, public officials, consultants, contractors, other NCDOT staff and the public in order to find acceptable solutions to infrastructure project problems.

Administration and supervision of District offivce to assure compliance to state and federal regulations. Manager district staff and county maintenance engineers. Responsible for administration of purchase order and division contracts, encroachments, subdivision design and construction, driveway permits, maintenance/traffic studies and/or investigations. Review and evaluate consultant plans within Catawba and Lincoln Counties for completeness and compliance of all engineering principles, standards and design needs.

Administer contract construction projects to assure compliance with all state and federal regulations. Manage construction personnel in Resident Engineers office to provide positive working relationships with all members of the resident engineers office while motivation, supervision, counseling and training to meet future needs of NCDOT. Provide supervision of contractors operations as well as permit compliance on all projects.

Administration and supervision of highway construction projects to assure compliance with project plans, contract special provisions and standard specifications. Coordinate inspection and engineering stakeout for each project. Prepare and check monthly and final estimates. Insure quality control by sampling and testing procedures and monitor progress and workmanship of projects.

Trainee on the NCDOT Highway Engineering Associates Program where I was exposed to various departments within the unit.
