Abandoned Mine Lands (WYAML)-Lander, WY

  • Investigate reclamation status and develop actionable recommendations to address issues related to native vegetation establishment, erosion, and noxious weeds at abandoned mine sites across Wyoming.
  • Conducted field investigations to identify reclamation issues, facilitating targeted interventions for improved vegetation recovery and ecosystem restoration.
  • Contributed to the refinement of future Abandoned Mine Land (AML) reclamation planning efforts through comprehensive analysis and recommendations for design and implementation improvements.


Native Plants Project (NP2)-Lander, WY

  • Collaborated with the members of the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE), BLM, WYDEQ and the TNC to enhance sage-grouse habitat across Wyoming.
  • Conducted extensive research on native plant species suitable for seed mixes used in sage-grouse habitat restoration.
  • Established a seed bank through the collection of native seeds within Wyoming.


Sentinel-Air Force Global Strike Command-Cheyenne, WY and Sidney, NE

  • Conducted baseline biological surveys as a component of the Airforce Global Strike Command Sentinel Project spanning eastern Wyoming and western Nebraska.
  • Identification of wildlife through visual observation, auditory detection, and analysis of scat, nests, and burrows.
  • Conducted comprehensive habitat assessments and identify dominant plant species.


Natrium Advanced Reactor Project-Kemmerer, WY

  • Conducted Terrestrial Visual Encounter Surveys (TVES), including detecting wildlife visually or audibly. Gave special attention to recording special-status species, including federally listed species, candidates for federal listing, bald and golden eagles, and Wyoming Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN).


Washington Ground Squirrel Surveys (WAGS)-Pendleton, OR

  • Conducted walking biological surveys to identify and delineate colonies of endangered Washington Ground Squirrels in a prospective construction corridor.


Boardman to Hemingway (B2H)-Baker City, OR

  • Performed preconstruction noxious weed and rare plant surveys prior to the installation of a multistate transmission line.


East Palestine Train Derailment-East Palestine, OH

  • Aided in the Emergency Response for the East Palestine Train Derailment by performing routine air quality monitoring and sampling across the town of East Palestine.

  • Liaison for private landowners enrolled in Audubon Rockies’ Conservation Ranching Initiative. Developed three-year habitat management plans to focus conservation actions on promoting avian habitat diversity.
  • Conducted avian point count and habitat surveys across the Rocky Mountain and Great Plain ecosystems and analyzed data to discover temporal trends in bird diversity.
  • Conducted routine wildlife monitoring across several open-pit coal mines in the Powder River Basin. Surveys included ungulates, raptors, breeding birds, lagomorphs, black-tailed prairie dogs, aquatic and invertebrates.
  • Conducted detailed habitat assessment surveys to determine potential impacts of future oil and gas development on big game, greater sage-grouse, raptors, black-tailed prairie dogs, and BLM and USFWS Special Status Species. Surveyed over 268 square miles to determine raptor nesting success within oil and gas development in across Converse County, Wyoming.
