- STEM night volunteer: I facilitated elementary school STEM events by managing science stands and guiding activities for students. We would sign up to work around 4 hours and got to teach kids with hands-on learning that made it fun.
- Snack bar volunteer: To be able to fund our trips, we had to work at the snack bars, taking shifts for a certain amount of time. Every student was supposed to take shifts for maybe a few hours, which also contributed to our grade. During this time, not many students were signing up or showing up, so after fulfilling the hours needed, I continued to sign up for more and more hours to be able to get the money the whole class needed.
- Trunk or treat volunteer: A few days before Halloween, the school I attended was holding a community event where kids could come to the school, get dressed up, and get candy or treats. My avid class was going to have a stand selling different types of drinks and snacks that we had to make. I volunteered to work this because I thought it would be a good opportunity to get involved in the community. I served drinks in cups and also dealt with the cash box, which we would take shifts for until later on when the event finished.
