I’ve worked with intellectually disabled adults and children, assisting and motivating them to participate in camp activities. I built a strong bond as a one-on-one support for my assigned camper, where we learned from and embraced each other.
The camp experience lasted a week, but the bond I built with the kids and adults felt much longer.
