I have completed all of my prerequisites at Austin Community College for the dental hygiene program, and I am on the waitlist to get in. While waiting for their program I decided to go into a dental assisting school, so I can get work experience and learn how a dental office works from the inside.

I would watch over many procedures that were being done, for example extraction, fillings, crown. I also would help the dental assistants take X-rays. Moreover, I would help if they need some extra hands in chair side assist. Lastly I would take some patients to front of the office when they were
