Prepare patients for IR procedures, administer moderate sedation medications and monitor patients throughout the procedure. Collaborate with the attending doctor and the rest of the team to ensure good patient outcomes. Recover patients post procedure and discharge patients. Ensure they are educated in their discharge instructions and what they might expect in the coming days post procedure. Emergency care of a diverse patient population. Triaged patients that had been admitted due to trauma, acute MI's, CVA's, management of chronic illnesses and complications due to sepsis. Also utilized critical thinking skills to prioritize nursing interventions based on patients' acuity levels and individual needs. Conducted thorough patient assessments to identify changes in condition, promptly notifying physicians and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary. Administered medications safely according to established guidelines while closely monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions requiring intervention. Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans for complex patients with multiple comorbidities.
Employed the same skills that were used at Hawaii Pacific Health Hospital. This hospital was often the first hospital that traumas were brought to in RI due to the location and the patient population it served. It was considered an inter-city hospital so it was very busy and the acuity of the patients were high.
