As a Unit Coordinator working directly under Unit Manager, my responsibilities were to make sure all necessary paperwork were faxed to several departments within hospital daily, order important consent forms for doctors/Interns Order supplies for entire General Medicine Unit. Round for maintenance problems throughout floor make sure Unit was always in compliance. Answer/ transfer all phone calls for patients as well as staff, family, Doctors. Stock unit regularly assure that everything is always available for staff and patients. Prepare patient Charts upon arrival and assure it’s broken down and filed when discharged. Make copies, Attention notice’s for staff participation in different unit expectations. Discharge/ Admit, Transfer patients. Request transportation for patient being discharged or Transferred. Attend several interviews and be apart of hiring decisions for onboarding employees. Greet Visitors and accommodate them with any concerns and need. Worked with health quest for 3 years and recently transitioned to Epic so i am now Epic Certified also. Just overall make sure the unit with 45 patients, charge nurse 7 nurses, 3 techs most of the time was functioning and ran smoothly.
