- Facilitated the transition to university life for BIPOC, first-generation,and students with limited income through increasing engagement and sense of belonging, promoting sustainable relationships on and off campus, interpreting institutional policies and requirements, and increasing access to campus resources.
- Founded and advised First-Generation Vikings, a student-led campus club aimed at providing an inaugural space for first-generation students at GV to unite, ask questions, build community, and navigate the explicit and implicit rules of higher ed.
- Awarded: First-Generation Vikings received the 2023 IAMNCC Presidents' Student Leadership Award and the Presidents' Civic Engagement Leadership Award
- Under a Title III grant, created a handbook for mentors and a guidebook for mentees by researching best practices in peer mentoring; the ELEVATE Peer Mentoring Program was successfully piloted in Fall 2023 with 12 mentees and 12 mentors.
- Designed and implemented Crew Captain orientation programming, including AmeriCorps regulations, Mentor Coaching and Leadership Development, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Time Management and Study Skills, First-Year Experience, and FERPA; supported oversight of five Crew Captains who each met with three first-year seminar classes and conducted one-on-one mentoring with BIPOC, first-generation, and limited-income students.
- Collected and analyzed data pertaining to 68 students from 15 first-year seminar classes participating in mentoring with Crew Captains; retention data was tracked and flagged for intervention.
