Volunteer Experience

  • CHHS Health Sciences Career Day, 2017, I was a group leader for high school students interested in the healthcare field at the college level. I guided the students around each building within the College of Health and Human Services participating in activities that gave them insight into those particular career fields.
  • Warren County Services Fair, 2018, This fair is dedicated to the health of refugees who live in Bowling Green. I performed eye exams and determined based on the parameters given if they needed more assistance.
  • Medical Center Covid Vaccine, 2020, This was not required for my undergrad in nursing, but there was a need for volunteers to administer vaccines during the pandemic. I was able to collaborate with other nursing students and educators. Built a rapport with patients and making them feel comfortable during the procedure.
  • Camp for Courageous Kids, 2021, I had never worked with kids who had disabilities, and it was an amazing experience. I was a group leader and conducted specific activities that were assigned to me.
  • Internship – WKU Health Education and Promotion, 2018, In this role I was responsible for developing educational resources and distributing them around campus. We would hold events to promote health and sexual education. I was directly responsible for coming up with the stall street journals that would be posted in the bathrooms of each dorm. We held an event called Grocery Bingo. I was responsible for coming up with the bingo boards that were based off of health education topics. Promote free HIV testing, condoms, and feminine toiletries.
