Work History

Rehab Therapy Technician

Renown Regional Medical Center
Reno
05.2022 - 07.2024
  • In this job I provided therapeutic services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, as well as their families and caregivers under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists.
  • I also worked in tandem with other medical professionals, including registered nurses, certified nurse assistants, and physicians.
  • I provided indirect and direct patient care within the rehabilitation environment and assisted in the management of the physical environment including, but not limited to, cleaning of gym space and equipment, ordering of supplies, basic maintenance of equipment, patient scheduling, and clerical duties.
  • I completed high-level disinfecting for endoscopes used for FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow) procedures.
  • I collaborated with rehab leadership to improve work processes and compensation for our team.

Medical Assistant

Skin Cancer and Dermatology Institute
Reno
05.2022 - 07.2022
  • As a medical assistant at SCDI, I was responsible for assisting a designated provider in clinical and surgical needs.
  • These needs included recording and charting patient history, aiding the provider in surgical procedures, preparing and administering medications as instructed by the provider, and sterilizing surgical equipment.
  • Along with these responsibilities, I handled the UV lightbox for patients who required UV radiation for treatment.

Baker/Driver

Insomnia Cookies
Reno
09.2018 - 09.2021
  • I worked in several different areas while at Insomnia Cookies.
  • I started as a delivery driver, where I delivered our product around the Reno area.
  • I was also a baker, where I got to make our products and serve people with the best customer care I could give.
  • My customer service and time management skills have been honed from this job.

Busser

La Mojarra Loca Grill
Las Vegas
04.2019 - 08.2019
  • At La Mojarra, I learned the art of bussing.
  • Working there, I had to learn to work in an adverse environment because I am not fluent in Spanish, and many of my coworkers exclusively spoke Spanish.
  • That challenge motivated me to learn a language to better my work capacity.
  • I now understand the restaurant rush and can find ways to work smarter, not harder.
  • Working in an environment where I did not speak the dominant language also increased my empathy, which will be instrumental for serving patients and clients who do not speak English and may feel intimidated navigating the healthcare environment through a translator.

Laborer

Nevada Marble Restoration
Las Vegas
06.2016 - 08.2018
  • During my time at Nevada Marble Restoration, I gained knowledge on natural stone restoration and learned the value of manual labor, as many of my job responsibilities included transportation and management of heavy objects.
  • Setting limits for myself and knowing my own strength were essential skills for this job because rolling around 500-pound machines is a dangerous task.
  • Self-management, awareness of my environment, and promoting the safety of myself and others are instrumental skills that I learned during my time at Nevada Marble Restoration.
