In my current position, I am responsible for mounting custom service bodies, flatbeds, dump beds, and performing warranty repairs. As the head electrician, my duties include wiring and installing various systems and accessories on the latest truck models, including Ford, Chevy, and RAM. This includes cranes, beacon lights, traffic advisors, strobe lights, lift gates, hydraulic dumps, work lights, and other specialized equipment. Additionally, I install auxiliary batteries with battery separators to ensure optimal power management for the systems installed.

As a Level 4 welder, I am one of only two team members authorized to weld on dump beds and trailer hitches for Ford 650 trucks. I also fabricate flatbeds ranging from 8 to 24 feet. My custom fabrication work ensures that each product is uniform, professional, and meets the highest standards of quality and functionality. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail to meet the diverse needs of our clients and the demands of the industry.

In my role, I was responsible for determining HVAC layouts, installing package units, split systems, and mini splits, as well as creating duct layouts. My duties also included handling service calls, providing estimates, and managing warranty work. I worked on a variety of projects, including new residential construction, system installations, and commercial installations.

This position greatly enhanced my interpersonal and problem-solving skills, as I often worked directly with clients to address their needs and resolve issues. Additionally, I learned to perform effectively under pressure, in challenging environments such as high heat and confined, poorly lit spaces like attics and crawl spaces. The experience also helped me find comfort in the uncomfortable and encouraged me to challenge myself.

I was responsible for fabricating 6 to 10-foot trailers designed to transport porta potties. I also played a key role in repairing equipment used during the grape-picking season, including trailers and various specialized tools. My responsibilities extended to the fabrication of equipment such as sprayers, hydraulic flail trimmers, disc blowers, and protective cages for new tractors. This position required frequent collaboration with tractor operators to address their immediate needs, including equipment repairs, and the development of custom solutions to improve efficiency and ease of work. In this role, I regularly worked with a variety of tools and equipment, including welders, grinders, ironworking machinery, band saws, torches, plasma cutters, forklifts, and pneumatic tools. I maintained a professional, collaborative relationship with my coworkers, ensuring a work environment focused on safety, efficiency, and quality. I attribute much of my expertise in fabrication to the hands-on experience gained in this dynamic, problem-solving environment.
