I recently Rebuilt my 2007 Ford F-150's 4.6l v8 by diagnosing that my engine would not turn over and was locked up, I pulled the engine out using an engine hoist and placed it on an engine stand i then started taking the engine apart until i got down to the block and pistons i gently knocked all of the pistons out of their cylinders and it came to my attention that one of the pistons had a bent piston rod, i then ordered all new gaskets and seals i would need to put it all back together then ordered a new piston, piston rod,and piston cap to replace the bent one, then sent the engine block and heads to a shop to have them cleaned and inspected for any damage, while i waited to hear back from the machine shop i began cleaning all parts that i could reuse when putting the engine back together, luckily their was no damage to either and by the time i got them back all parts and gaskets where already delivered, i put the block back on the engine stand and began putting everything back together and replacing any part that i had any bit of concern about being damaged or not working properly and torquing down every bolt to spec then hoisting the engine back into the engine bay and reinstalling the engine, i then double checked all hoses bolts, and cords to make sure that everything was correctly installed and properly fastened, i then turned the truck on and went up 500 RPM,s every few minutes for a while, then turned the truck off and searched for any type of leaks or puddles and checked all fluids to make sure that all levels where correctly maintained, then drove about 5 miles then checked everything once again to make sure everything was at adequate specifications during the test.
