• Directly oversaw all support services related to Black & Veatch's Electrical and Communications division, and its subcontractors.
• Reporting directly to the Divisional President and company board members to ensure all support services, including Human Resources, Safety, Dot/Fleet, Compliance, Environmental, Training, and Recruiting, operate efficiently and as designed to support the operational needs of the company.
• Full supervision of 178 employees under the Support Service designation, and support for up to 3,000 employees companywide, with the addition of up to 1,000 subcontractors.
• Lead teams and actively participated in the OSHA and other governing authorities' incident review and investigation of serious injuries and fatalities.
• Managed all aspects of abatements and citations, including informal and formal review hearings, contesting citations, and/or findings.

During the role of the compliance and training director, the responsibilities and tasks included:

• Provide management support to the Safety, Compliance, Training, and Recruitment Departments regarding federal and state OSHA regulations and industrial health.
• Act as the Lead Risk Management and Safety Specialist, responsible for coordinating the risk and safety management services for divisional company employees and subcontractors working within the company's scope.
• Lead and coordinate all safety-related training activities for all divisional company employees.
• Managed the creation and instruction of classes and training for all employees; training programs include, but are not limited to, new hire orientations, PPE use and maintenance, fire safety, lockout/tagout procedures, American Heart Association First Aid/CPR, NFPA 70E electrical safety, electrical qualified workers program, H2S awareness, drug and alcohol awareness, elevated working, hazard communication and readiness, good decision driving, MSHA/OSHA/CALOSHA education and understanding, and many others.
• Worked with and scheduled outside third-party instructors to train employees as required to maintain licenses through continued education and customer requirements.
• Worked directly with Human Resources and Recruiting team members to ensure all employees receive proper training to assist in the efficiency of all new-hire orientation courses.
• Oversaw the companywide NFPA 70E program. This included training, documentation, determination of qualified electrical employees vs. non-qualified or limited, conducted arc flash calculations, and electrical panel hazard assessments.
• Conducted six-month reviews of arc hazard policy and procedures versus applicable and modernized PPE, and led safety investigations on all electrical exposure or arc flash exposure incidents.
• Created a registered and multi-state approved (Texas, New Mexico, Alabama, and California) NFPA 70E and arc flash hazard recognition and training course. The course consisted of 4 hours of novice-level awareness and training to become a non-qualified or limitedly qualified electrical worker, and an advanced 4 hours of electrically qualified instruction for those workers needing to be electrically qualified or to conduct a site arc flash and hazard assessment.
• Obtained and maintained certifications as an instructor in PEC (Safeland), NFPA 70E, CPR/First Aid, and QEW (both overhead line and secondary electricians), accident investigation, MSHA, and PMCOW.

While doing so, I completed a daily route of 47 wells and 2 saltwater disposals, ensuring normal production through measurements of production gained from previous days' notations, and completing the tasks necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the wells and production.
