Jake Stavisky

Athletics:

• JV/Varsity - Basketball: District champ 9+10th, team manager 11+12th, grew connections w/ team+coach, built communication skills as a point guard, motivated team while injured
• Club - Basketball: Tourneys every wknd+trip to Vegas for nationwide event (Bigfoot Hoops), won 2nd place in division, developed lasting relationships w/ new teammates (2021+2022)
• JV/Varsity - Soccer: JV (9th), team captain(10th), Varsity team player/manager(11th), 2022 2A State Champion; motivated/encouraged team while injured.

Volunteer:

• United Way Youth Closet - Served during school 'ski days' to help organize, sort,+ distribute clothes to families in need, grew teamwork skills.
• VMS - Planned activities during Ski Fridays for other injured/unable to ski (2023+2024)

Extracurricular/Work:

• VMS- 8th Grade Basketball Head-Coach: Selected to train+mentor team, utilized leadership skills to emphasize skill-development, teamwork + sportsmanship, implemented coaching strategies.
• Club Member: Video Editing Club, Rock Band Club, Newspaper Club. created + edited videos about carpooling, practiced and played "Hold The Line" (piano), helped create and distribute school newsletter.
• Physical Therapy - Howard Head Sports Medicine: Rehabbed two torn ACLs, became my physical activity in lieu of sports, gained real interest into world of phys. therapy/kinesiology (2022,2023,2024)
• Student Ambassador: VMS - Selected to represent VMS as a S.A, gave tours to prospective families, improved communication skills, met & welcomed new students before school year (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024)
