Summary

I am looking for a position to apply my critical thinking, time management and patient care skills. I graduated from Chamberlain College of Nursing in July 2024 and have worked as a staff nurse at the Ohio Health Rehabilitation Hospital with a specialty in traumatic spinal cord injury. I have also worked as a clinical, lab and didactic instructor, as well as the clinical and lab coordinator for Felbry College School of Nursing. I have taught multiple courses ranging from Foundations of nursing to capstone courses with a focus in NCLEX review and NCLEX prep. I am skilled in working under pressure and adapting to new situations and challenges to best enhance the organizational brand.

  • As a lab and clinical instructor, I am required to work with students in a lab setting teaching them physical skills for the foundations of nursing (hand washing, sterile gloving, complete bed bath, foley insertion, medication administration), Introduction to IV (insertion of IV catheters, spike and prime for primary and secondary IV fluid, CVC dressing changes), medical surgical (tracheostomy care, chest tube care, colostomy care, NG insertion and management, wet-to-dry dressing change)
  • As a clinical instructor, I am required to work with students at clinical sites ranging from assisted living facilities for the foundation's students to medical-surgical floors for the medical-surgical students.
  • I am required to assist students with their clinical skills, as well as creating care plans for their patients.
  • As the lab and clinical coordinator, I order supplies for the lab to be used for skills check-offs, and as a clinical coordinator, I am required to work with clinical sites, students, and clinical instructors regarding student clinical assignments.
  • As an instructor, I am required to teach the foundations of nursing course for both entry-level students, as well as those coming in with prior medical knowledge.
  • As an instructor for the capstone course, I am required to meet with students and work on test-taking strategies, as well as assist students by providing NCLEX review sessions weekly.
  • I am in charge of keeping track of multiple classes at one time with a student load of 60+.

  • As a registered nurse, I was required to provide care for patients primarily on the stroke unit. This includes various daily tasks such as passing medications for patients on various dietary textures, performing intermittent straight catheterizations, administering IV medications, starting IVs, performing wound care, and tracheostomy care, among other tasks required to care for patients.
  • Additionally, I was required to assist with patient transfers in and out of bed, and from wheelchair to toilet.
  • In this position, I have developed my skills as a nurse, as well as a team player when interacting with not only nursing staff but therapy staff as well.
  • While at this location, I received the Clinical Excellence award in 2018 for my work with the spinal cord program. I taught new hires a class on bowel and bladder management for patients with spinal cord injuries.
  • I have become a preceptor, helping to orient new hires. I was the co-lead for the spinal cord program, as well as the charge nurse for the floor.
