I am a very hard working individual that loves his family. I was told years ago by an older carpenter that to be successful, you need to learn everything from digging ditches, to putting a lock on a front door as you are finalizing a remodel. The more you can do yourself, the more opportunities you will have. I try and have that attitude and continue to learn. I have taken this attitude into my leadership position. As a superintendent, I still don’t mind jumping in when needed to help get the job done. It allows a crew to see that you aren’t making them do something, that you are afraid to do yourself. In return, you get respect and more performance from the crew. Whether in the office ordering material off the take off, to being on jobsitw with the crew, I am always trying to prepare for the next step. Being 47 years old, i am testing the waters to find a job that I can see as a lasting till retirement position.
