
Enforce all Sheriff's Office written directives along with policies and procedures. Maintain order and security on courthouse property. Provide security for judges, attorneys, witnesses, jurors, prisoners, defendants on bond, and the general public. Provide security for jurors during the sequestration process. Ensure proper application of emergency response procedures when necessary. Carry out orders of the court. Maintain firearm proficiency. Prepare and ensure all paperwork is accurate. Serve injunctions, arrest warrants, and make arrests when necessary. Maintain CPR certification.
Under the direct supervision of a Field Training Officer, I patrolled a certain area and responded to and handled calls for service, worked scenes of traffic accidents, and conducted traffic stops. Ultimately, I transferred to the Corrections division inside the jail.
