I am a highly motivated person and take initiative to solve problems and improve the facilities and utility systems I support. Always willing to go the extra mile to make sure a job is done right. Volunteer on a regular basis for any training that is available and love the challenge of learning new things. I also take great pride in teaching students in the welding program where I am an instructor. I enjoy passing along the knowledge that I have and enabling them to create a better future for themselves.
The Emerging Leaders Program was a great opportunity I was selected to participate in. I was able to sit in on PW level and FEC (facilities engineering command) level meetings. I also conducted interviews on the PW and FEC level including the Public Works Business Line Director. My mentor was PWO Commander Turner of Naval Air and Weapons Station China Lake. The program included a lot of professional training including classes in DAU (Defense Acquisition University), ESAMS, and other training seminars.
