During the Engineering 1216 class, I was the CAD sub-team lead for my engineering design problem team. I modeled my prototype in CAD and worked with the manufacturing team to adjust the design.

• Provided leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring that tasks were completed on time and to a high standard.
• Monitored team performance against targets, taking corrective action where necessary.
• Coordinated team resources to achieve project goals.

As a grassroots referee for the Northern Virginia area, I worked with a wide range of skill levels and ages. In doing so, I dealt with many different types of people, from coaches, to parents, to team members. This experience mainly taught me conflict resolution, communication, and coordination within a team.

• Communicated effectively with coaches, players and officials during games.
• Fostered sportsmanship among players and coaches to minimize in-game conflict.
• Navigated difficult situations with direct communication and explanation of game rules.

The Grate Patrol is a family-oriented, sandwich-making effort offering food and fellowship to people who are homeless and in need in downtown Washington. We passed out food and hygiene products on a weekly basis, and I assisted in the organizing of food and the assembly of the packages.

• Provided assistance to staff in the daily operations of the organization.
• Attended weekly meetings to discuss progress and future initiatives.
• Provided guidance and support to fellow volunteers during their shifts.
