- Interned at OC WATR from July 2023 to July 2024. Started full time since July.
- As technicians at OC WATR we are responsible for creating a clean and contaminant free water used by intel and the City of Chandler.
- The utilization of a computer software known as cimplicity helps technicians trend data and process variables.
- Changes to process variables like pumps and valves are done by logic controllers known as PIDs.
- There are 3 major systems at OC WATR that are online to treat wastewater at different stages. Biological Treatment, High Pressure Reverse Osmosis, and Brine Treatment.
- My certification is in Brine Treatment or known as "Thermal" and includes operation of various mechanical components to desalinate Reverse Osmosis reject.
- The Brine Treatment system is considered the last major wastewater process at OC WATR.
- Brine is stored in storage tanks and is pumped into the system by two centrifugal pumps.
- The brine is then heated up and stripped of NCGs before entering the thermal system.
- The brine is then sent to a concentrator or a crystallizer for further processing.
- Brine is then sent to a hydrocyclone that separates lighter solids from heavier and ultimately is pushed out by a centrifuge and into a truck.
