James Downing

General Manager
Tripoli,Iowa

Summary

Organized and dependable candidate successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude. Willingness to take on added responsibilities to meet team goals.

I have a unique insight of the challenges and rewards of being apart of Mallard Point by Atria as a resident for 5.5 years. As ambassador for four years I met potential residents to support the sales department and assisted new residents to assimilate into the community.

Having visited 29 Holiday locations across the country, it enabled me to bring new and exciting concepts, activities, menu suggestions, styles of communication and fun ideas.

I led many resident activities, i.e., Just Cook It, Sing Alongs, Cardio Drumming, Candy Sales for Salvation Army and Focus Meetings.

Currently I know 2/3rd of the existing residents by name and have good relationships with staff.

My understanding of this position, as I have observed, could include mopping floors, plunging toilets, elevator breakdowns, broken pipes, resident complaints, but I would like to see Mallard Point have a smooth transition from Kathy Miller to the new GM.

Kathy has done an amazing job, she leave big shoes to fill.
