Working closely with the Construction Technology (CT) program, assisting in everyday operations of class. Daily responsibilities include opening and closing the classroom, preparing the class environment, planning daily objectives and aiding in lesson building and instruction of CT curriculum. Fundamental in sourcing materials and supplies and ensuring proper purchase requisitions are made and submitted while maintaining program ledger. Largely involved in creating worksheets, tests and other additional teaching aids. Promoting T&T programs by traveling to relevant events on behalf of CGCC as well as aiding and leading T&T program tours on campus. Working closely with other members in the community to develop mutually beneficial partnerships and locating projects for the CT program students to participate in.
Designed, prepared and instructed an "Introduction to woodworking: Hardwood cutting board" class in which participants were taught the fundamentals of woodworking in relation to construction a professionally crafted cutting board that they could keep. Worked directly with administration to align with budget and scheduling, while sourcing and acquiring the correct materials for a successful class. Participants were taught safety, technique, and troubleshooting of shop equipment while understanding the nuances and details involved in hardwood woodworking.
Performing Carpentry around the Columbia River Gorge area. Specializing in Decks and Remodel Projects. Interacting closely with homeowners to understand, design, and build a wide range of carpentry related projects safely and accurately. Have completed installations of multiple outdoor structures, fully finished basement, total remodels of bath/laundry, kitchens, and other living areas. Custom installation of windows, doors, cabinets, fine finish trim work, drywall and siding installations as well as concrete work. Residential installation and repair of Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical systems. Proficient in all aspects of power and hand tools.
Set and enforced performance-oriented production approach, significantly increasing worker output and reducing safety incidents. Worked closely with owner to develop and initiate new production models which increased the efficacy of MeltLab thermal analysis products. Transitioned into the design and building of a new production facility before leaving Virginia and therefore the company.
Opened and closed the store, making schedule changes and coordinating the everyday operations of the store. Maintained the entire facility while also managing up to 5 employees at a time. Was in charge of ordering for the entire store which also includes live animals. Very large emphasis on customer service relations.
