During their annual children's harbor week benefiting children's hospital, families met with players and I was interviewed on behalf of my advocacy for this cause.
May 2020- Jeff Looney "One a Rebel, Always a Rebel" memorial scholarship inspired by late Vestavia native Jeff Looney who inspired the Rebel spirit award.
April 2020- Smile A Mile scholarship- scholarship given by the children's hospital cancer patient outreach based organization. Awarding those with the qualities of a leader in the setting of cancer survivorship.
December 2019- Robby Rookis Courage Award- Named after the late Vestavia football player who battled leukemia during the 1980 football season and overcame cancer three times in his life until he passed away at the age of 45. This award was given to a player who displayed his strength and courage during the sport while overcoming adversities in their lives.
