James Jennings

I'm a creative minded Student Teacher that is enthusiastic about building relationships with youth. I want to see students build their knowledge, skills, and self confidence. I have a background in working with High School aged youth, and find myself adept at relating to and working with them.

I am a Captain on the Millersville Fencing Team, I have fenced since High School and am glad to have kept up with the sport. I have built lifelong relationships through the sport, and have kept myself active in college beyond academics. It has given me an opportunity to teach a skill to someone who is completely new to the sport.

I recently joined my School's Rugby Team and have had a phenomenal experience despite the short amount of time I've been involved. Being on a team, playing in games, and consistently attending practices has been great for my communication skills, time management, and ability to learn a completely new field of knowledge.

I am involved in Millersville's TEECA, which is the Technology and Engineering Club. I regularly attend meetings and have attended conferences and represented Millersville in competitions. I have used it as an opportunity to learn cooperate with a group to complete projects in limited times with limited resources, and also to prepare for competitions while still keeping up with classes. It has allowed me to meet seasoned teachers and learn how improve my ability to teach.

I am a captain on the Millersville Club Fencing Team. I have fenced since High School and am glad that I have kept up with the sport. It has allowed me to practice teaching others a field of knowledge that they have zero experience or knowledge in. I learn how to take skills that I may have down to instinct, and teach it to someone who may initially show hesitation. 

I recently joined my schools Rugby team and have gained experience in being put into a brand new environment where I must learn on the fly and make rapid decisions. I regularly attend practices and tournaments and have in turn learnt and practiced  communication skills, time management, and consistency.
