JAMES KALAMAN

I have dedicated my life to service. Every part of my adult career has been with the express purpose to serve the State of Ohio and the United States of America. Continuing with this service, I have continued to find ways to serve even my fellow public servants. I have accomplished this through assistance in Field Training Officer programs, leading my agency's Defensive Tactics program and through responsibility over Body Worn Cameras. I have been involved in the discussion for, and later acquisition of issued equipment for the department. This has included plate carriers, plates for the plate carriers, ballistic helmets, and ballistic shields. I have also championed the cause of officers carrying more medical equipment on our persons in response to several critical incidents.

Through this fulfilling lifestyle and career I have found that I desire to serve in an even higher capacity than I have to this point. I believe Akron Police Department to be that higher capacity at this time and in the future. I believe that employment with this agency could allow me to be the best public servant I am capable of being, and in the process serve a greater amount of people than I ever would have elsewhere.
