Responsible for helping build monthly scrap buys and scrap mixes that are used for the production of steel at the BOF.
Work together with the Production Planning Manager to determine which raw materials will be used on a monthly basis and then source the materials through our tabware purchasing software.
This is in addition to all of the responsibilities listed below for the Process Coordinator of Raw Materials position that i previously held.
Responsible for Scrap Buys and Raw Material purchases for the BOF as well as other areas of the facility.
Also responsible for the delivery schedule for all of the scrap and raw materials needed on a daily basis at the facility.
Helped to lead the steel byproducts recycling program at the Riverdale Facility. Materials that were identified and presented to various steel suppliers for beneficial re-use applications are materials such as ESP Dust, C-Scrap, LMF Slag, Mill Scale, Tundish Waste and used Barrel and Slag Line Bricks from Steel Ladles.
Gathered data from the various departments along the Riverdale Facility and then shared them with the rest of the steel company in the United States in order to benchmark our performance among other business units. If there were areas that were found to good candidates where improvements could be made with cost or performance, we would present these initiatives to the departments and help them to achieve the goals.
Responsible for the coordination of Hot Metal shipments from Burns Harbor and Indiana Harbor facilities to Riverdale.
Helped to coordinate all of the railroad track work that needed to be performed in order to maintain quality and continuous movement of hot metal bottle cars and railcars throughout the facility with the least amount of disruption.
Needed to scan the bottles with a thermo camera in order to ensure safe shell temperatures and then report any deficiencies.
Worked on the state roads and used radiation gauges in order to test for compaction density specifications which were set my the State of Ohio.
Created an extra revenue stream by suggestion we use one of our smoothness testing machines on other state production job sites.
Became certified in Level 1 and Level 2 Mix Designs through the State of Ohio.
Worked as a Union Supervisor in the Heating Department and as a Top Side Manager on top of the Coke Ovens
