Safety-oriented Tool Maker with 26 years of experience. Knowledgeable about [Tool] making and close tolerance use with understanding of quality inspections and ethically sourcing materials.
I spent many years reading large blue prints making parts as needed &
holding close tolerances, have also done millwright work, cutting and fitting and welding. When in management if a shop employee was having
trouble I could show him a better way, help him adjust the machine thus
getting more done. Employees give you more respect if they know that you have done their job too. Detail-oriented team player with strong organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.
I had a machine shop at my house (45 x 70) where I made parts for Cat.
and other shops or just walk ins. I did this before I retired and was still working at Cat.
This shop was perfect after I retired because Cat toolroom continued to send me work until I moved to Florida.
My shop was all manual machines which was great for 1 or 2 pieces,
CNC machines took to long to set up .
Worked in toolroom making parts for machines in the production shop, to keep product moving on the line. When a machine broke down I would analyze the problem with machine repair. I would make new parts
to get the machine up and running.
I was on 3rd shift and the only person in the toolroom that could run all of the machines, when another building broke something in the middle
of the night, they would deliver it to me to make a replacement part.
A big part of my time was repairing v8 & v10 engine blocks on a large
horizontal boring machine (DevLieg).
