My father, a Korean War veteran, served with Alabama's Army National Guard for the 1963 integration of the Univ. of Alabama at Tuscaloosa and for the 1965 March from Selma to Montgomery led by Dr. martin Luther King, Jr. I was cast as a reporter in 2014's "Selma." I have written more than 1,000 articles about my family experience in Alabama during the Civil Rights struggle.
