I am deeply committed to serving the Citizens of Luling now, just as I have for the last sixteen and a half years. This is “My Home”. I take pride in being there for the people of Luling when they are most likely having the worst day of their lives. I only hope I can make their day a little better and help them in any way possible. My plan has always been to retire from the City of Luling Police Department.
Due to the length of my service here, I am a familiar face to most of the citizens of the City and they know they can count on me to serve my community with the commitment and integrity that they so rightly expect and deserve.
I was recruited by then Chief John Cochran to join the Luling Police Department. As I had moved to just outside of the City of Luling in 2006 where I still reside to this day, I felt this was my community and I wished to serve the community I lived in. I started with the Luling Police Department in October of 2007 and quickly promoted to Patrol Sergeant. During my time as Patrol Sergeant I also served as a Narcotics Detection Canine Officer, in which I provided and trained my own dog. I utilized my canine partner at zero cost to the Citizens of the City of Luling. I paid for my canine partner and everything it took to maintain him out of my own pocket.
I was promoted to Patrol/Operations Captain in 2012 by Chief Bill Sala, making me the Second in Command of the Luling Police Department, the position which I have retained since and ultimately have been promoted to the position of Assistant Chief of Police.
I began with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office in January of 2002 and was assigned to the Patrol Division, eventually reaching the rank of Patrol Sergeant. When I left the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office I was offered the position of Patrol Captain by then Chief Deputy David Brent if I would stay with the sheriff’s office, but I had already given my commitment to join the Luling Police Department.
I began my law enforcement career with the Mustang Ridge Police Department in June of 2000. While I was only with the Mustang Ridge Police Department for just over a year and a half, I left there as the Interim Chief of Police in January of 2002. I was offered the full time Chief of Police Position, but knew I didn’t have the experience in my short time as a Police Officer to run a law enforcement agency then.
