Summary

My current position at Cargill Salt is Maintenance Supervisor, I have 17 direct reports: 1 Scheduler, 3 Electricians, 13 Mechanics servicing 10 separate Packaging, Production, Processing, and Shipping Departments. Day to day tasks involve Employee communication, Kronos payroll, staffing vacations, daily meetings coordinating dept. Preventative Maintenance Outages. Yearly we have Department Budgets, Employee Reviews, Raises, Special Projects. Projects include purchasing parts, materials, obtaining quotes from outside contractors for extra labor and specialty jobs. Strengths - people leadership, stakeholder communication/change management, strong technical background, PdM strategies, and passion for Lean Manufacturing. Developing strong RE/Maintenance Metrics (KPIs). Accomplishments - changing cultures from reactive to planned and scheduled, communication and mentoring staffs to improve facility layouts, process flow, fives programs, equipment uptime, automation, capital justification, MRO, (material warehouse) and asset life cycle management. People development - skills assessments, gap analysis, associate development, vacancy risk and knowledge transfer development, shared vision. Building SMART Goals and having fun seeing craft grow in their passions.

Production Team Leader

  • Production Dept Team Lead for Cargill Salt Watkins Glen was a steppingstone opportunity, some of my duties include Communication between Ops to Supervisors and Superintendents, making sure the Production Dept Operators have all Tools and Supplies to perform their job task successfully
  • I also assist in Job Planning, ordering parts and materials, preforming minor Maintenance Tasks to keep the Dept operating smoothly
  • I also assist the Production Planning Dept with KCL Rail Inventory Info to be relay to Finger Lakes Railway, along with moving/spotting KCL Car for unload
  • I few short hours of my week I am task with navigating Sockeye to schedule PMs and Routine Maintenance Task, TECO WOs, checking the New Work Status, and monitoring Waiting Materials, Writing and Executing Work Orders
  • My tasks do not stop here, I will lend a hand no matter the situation

  • For a short few years, I was an employee of Cargill Salt Watkins Glen Maintenance Dept
  • While I have been in the Dept
  • For a little over 3 years now, I have demonstrated the willingness to lead, learn, and teach within the department
  • Entering the Maintenance Department in January of 2018 as Utility Maintenance Personal, I have several rolls and responsibilities that include, Maintenance Technician, Backup Planning, and Back up Scheduling
  • While wearing my title as a Maintenance Technician, I am also responsible for day-to-day PM's that are predetermined by Supervisors and the Maintenance Scheduler
  • If there are any Deviations throughout the day, I am called upon for the Troubleshooting and Repair, Welding/light fabrication, and Electrical, these are just some of my other Maintenance Duties I am qualified for
  • A majority of the past 2 years at least 25 hours of my work week include, Planning Maintenance Work Orders, to which I invest my time to investigate the job at hand, create a job plan within a timely manner, purchasing parts and tools as needed, acquire outside contracting to accommodate with those more in-depth projects
  • One of my most recent accomplishments I have achieved has been learning and performing as required as the Maintenance Scheduler
  • As a Maintenance Scheduler I have needed to provide much attention to detail
  • In short, the Maintenance Scheduler is the coordinator of 11 Mechanics and 3 Electricians
  • This requires consistent, accurate contact with Maintenance personal and Department Supervisors to provide day to day activities
  • This includes PMs, and Deviations, creation of the following weeks Scheduling Template, and Daily Coordination meetings
  • Within the past 3 years I have willing provided help with many changes and challenges in the department including training for most of the department with work order Confirmations, work order Follow Up’s, Creating work orders, and Parts MIGO in SAP
  • These are ongoing training opportunities throughout Maintenance that I am always willing and able to aid with

Shipping Dept.

  • While working in the Shipping Department my primary responsibility was loading and unloading several in and outbound trucks per day
  • While working in shipping I had also learned and taken responsibility to help with the Inventory of Trim items within SAP, to be a better asset to Shipping I also learned the roll of Gate House Personal
  • I had spent a few years on A.M
  • Shift as the Jockey Truck operator and loading Drop & Hooks
  • While in shipping I have also engaged with the team in training of SAP where initially the System was launched
  • I was also one of the go to people for SAP training within the Dept

Bulk Dept.

  • Working in Bulk I made my self-available to Load Trucks, Train Cars, and Mini’s
  • In this Dept
  • At this place in time there were only 3 operators, 1 per shift taking turns covering Saturday shifts
  • My main shift was 11pm to 7am to load Minis and Train Cars
