- I was promoted to EHS role in order to bring behavior based safety initiatives and improve the safety culture at State Industrial Products
- I initiated several programs that have benefited the overall safety picture at SIP
- Included are Daily Safe Work Tips, Employee Prescription Safety Glasses Program and a revamped Respiratory Protection Program
- Additionally, we have built an improved Job Safety Analysis and Facility Compliance program in the Hebron Facility
- In addition to the operational safety requirements, as Corporate EHS manager I have been responsible for most of the regulatory and compliance reporting requirements for all of the SIP facilities
- This reporting includes annual Tier II reporting (multiple sites), USEPA Pesticide Reporting (Multiple Sites), Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reporting, air and water permit reporting, local POTW wastewater permit reporting and many additional industry related activities
- In addition, as EHS manager I have oversight over the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and facilitated the recent transition to the 14001 2015 update and the recertification of our 14001-2015 management system with a new certification vendor.
- I also am responsible for facility security protocols to ensure compliance with DHS, DOT and FRA requirements.

- My initiatives for damage collection and UPS overcharge reductions resulted in over $50K in savings in the first 9 months.

- I was responsible for daily operation of two UPS delivery terminals that employed 50 full-time and 30 part- time employees
- I was the first manager in our Central Ohio UPS district to run 2 operating centers
- The combined center workforce generally grew to over 120 total employees each peak season (OCT-DEC) My role included training, planning and implementation of the daily operating plan for both delivery centers
- The Business Manager role included safety training for OSHA compliance and workplace safety, training and compliance for DOT/NTSB hazardous material processes including hours of service and fleet maintenance requirements.
- I was responsible for Inventory control for 2 delivery facilities.
- I was also responsible for hiring and training management and non-management workforce in a union environment.
- As Business Manager, I was responsible for long range planning for equipment and staffing needs, and also had oversight of customer service communication for operational needs and business development
- As a business manager I had a staff of four full-time and 12 part-time supervisors reporting directly to me
- These supervisors were the operational supervisors for 4 full-time driver groups and 4 inside (part-time manual i.e. warehouse) operations
- My most important role with this group was to provide quality leadership training that stressed a personal commitment to employee safety and world class service for our customers
- My personal focus was on daily accountability to ensure a safe, efficient and quality conscious work group and management team.
