I started in the waste industry in 1994 at 20 years old for a private hauler in Wilmington De. Waste Management acquired that company in 1996 and shortly there after I became second shift assistant supervisor and then supervisor. During the time I was supervisor I moved my work schedule around to benefit the company and to develop my skills as a leader.
In 2004 I had the opportunity to become a fleet manager at the WM site in Georgetown, DE. I developed a winning team there and was able to win the small shop excellence award. In 2009 I started overseeing remote shops in Cambridge MD and Pocomoke MD while developing leadership teams in the shops. I was instrumental in phasing out the Cambridge shop and moving the workforce to an acquisition in Bridgeville De.
In 2012 I became Senior fleet manager and was responsible for the fleet departments on the Eastern Shore, Wilmington Hauling, Bridgeville Hauling, Georgetown Hauling and Pocomoke Hauling.
In 2014 I took the opportunity to join the team at Waste Masters Solutions to build the fleet department from ground up. I developed a safety culture, base line budgets, PM programs and schedule, developed specs on new trucks and trailers, implemented a fleet tracking program(RTA).
Worked closely with the owners and operations team to implement company standards on bonus programs, safety rules and regulations.
Developed a procedure to have new and refurbed can inventory.
Waste Connections acquired Waste Masters Solutions in November 2020. I was able to put my previous skills as a Fleet Manager in the corporate setting to good use.
I became DTL for the newly developed Keystone division in 2022 and continued developing my skills and assisting the RMM in onboarding new acquisitions as well as previous acquisitions.
March of 2024 I filled in as District manager while maintaining the Keystone DTL position. I worked in developing the fleet supervisor into the roll of Maintenance Manager.
Worked with the operations team to improve safety and scheduling.
