Accomplished professional with 41 years of expertise in 4-slide machine operations at Arcon, R&L Spring, Wisconsin Coil Spring and Fortress Forms. My last Employer, Arcon, was very “hands off”. I did everything related to the job from unloading trucks to coordinating supplies, tooling, maintenance, quality, housekeeping… you name it.
I have 41 years of experience mostly on 4-slide machines forming wire and flat stock products at 4 different companies
I kept multiple machines quality parts while working with operators, tool rooms, maintenance, customer representatives, and salespeople to meet company goals I also repaired and manufactured replacement tooling when needed, sometimes redesigning to increase efficiency and meet continuous improvement goals
I reviewed blueprints and informed salespeople/engineers if our machines were capable of making the product and assisted with quotes and also developing and setting up tooling to run production
At times I provided rough sketches and machine measurements necessary for outside service toolmakers to design and manufacture new and replacement tooling If needed I would modify or redesign to allow for developmental adjustability to meet customer requirements and provide samples until they were satisfied with the product
Additionally I also have some operating and setup experience on some spring making coolers at Wisconsin Coil Spring
At Arcon I was tasked with developing a new wire shaping line, changing round wire to a square, rectangle or trapezoid, using multiple capstans/wire drawers, Turks Rolls and a winder
Besides my main 4-slide duties at all 4 companies I have worked with wire welders, rotary straighteners, punch presses, powered mill presses, wire drawers, thread rollers, surface grinders, center less in feed grinders, groovers, diacros, lubows, and other secondary operation equipment
I am proficient in the use of various measuring devices and power tools and have an excellent quality record and attendance and can work with minimal supervision
