- I perform maintenance duties of utility system including cleaning and inspecting main sewer lines, responding to water main breaks or sewer back-ups and repairing utility systems, determining the location of utility lines prior to excavation, identifying problem areas within utility system and implementing actions to correct problem areas, calibrating gas monitoring equipment. I Operate construction and maintenance equipment such as pick-up trucks, tractors, loaders, dump trucks, backhoe, jet truck, utility truck, snow blowers, and various tools. I also provide back-up coverage in the operation of snowplows during inclement weather. I'm also on call 4 to 5 times a year. For the past five years I have been in the water meter department where I install new water meters and replace or repair old water meters.
