James Welch

Retired from U.S. Army on July 31 2024 after 20 years of faithful service. During this time I held many roles and leadership positions of increasing responsibility. Here are some of the job titles and responsibilities left to me by the Department of Defense over my 20 year career:

Information Technology Specialist MOS 25B

• Set up network profiles, security permissions and file sharing systems.
• Ensured data security, implementing encryption measures and access controls for sensitive information.
• Troubleshot complex hardware and software issues for swift resolution, minimizing downtime for affected users.
• Developed and maintained strong client relationships to deliver exceptional customer service and problem resolution.
• Used ticketing systems to manage and process support actions and requests.
• Coordinated efforts between internal IT staff and external vendors during major outages or incidents to minimize downtime.

Cyber Network Defender MOS 25D

• Developed comprehensive training materials to improve team knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
• Designed and deployed secure wireless networks, improving overall connectivity while maintaining a strong security posture.
• Established processes for regularly updating antivirus software definitions on all devices connected to company networks.
• Conducted vulnerability assessments, identifying potential threats and recommending appropriate countermeasures.
