Work History

Technical Support Executive

Penguin Chillers
02.2023 - Current

I started off building chillers on the manufacturing floor. After about 10 months I was promoted to Research and Development. The immediate needs of the company shifted soon after, I was moved off of R&D to help repair chillers for about 4 months. Recognition of my versatility & adaptability led me to working in the office doing tech support for customers on the phone and via email.

  • The company doesn't have a sales team, so customers who have questions about the type or size of chiller they need for their application talk to me about it.
  • I've had to become knowledgeable about how the chiller's are applied in real world circumstances such as, brewing, cold therapy, bait tanks, hydroponics, horticulture, as well as other miscellaneous applications.
  • I've spoken with customers all over North America in phone calls and via email; I've been a part of calls in which I'd advise teams on the best way to design their systems, I've met with company partners about how to best design new chillers to suit their needs, and also with normal consumers.
  • I've also dipped my toes into shipping and logistics while working in this position, as I've had to fulfill customer orders at times when needed. It's improved my understanding of company hierarchies and management. And I understand the value of developing relationships with co-workers to ensure good work is being done at all stages of the manufacturing process to ensure good service is provided.
