Elected to the position of Harbormaster to oversee some upgrades and necessary improvements to our harbor. This is a volunteer position
Performed all duties associated with this position including, but not limited to, keeping the harbor fully rented, setting up volunteer work parties, repairing old and failing infrastructure, communicating in a clear and understandable way what needs have to be met immediately and in the near time future,
Subcontracting for 13 Pile replacements which included moving quite a few floating homes so the pile driving barge could access our inner piles.
Realigning one finger pier to accommodate one floating home being installed on a new concrete barge that needed more room due to wind loads than in its prior slip.
Engineered refloating of a sunken floating home that sank due to weather and a domestic water leak, This was accomplished with input from the SFPD Marine Patrol, SF Port Hazardous waste and all volunteer work force. Due to the 3rd Street Light Rail Project, the 4th St Bridge was non operable, so it was accomplished with rigging, come alongs, pumps and divers to refloat this home. This Floating Home is still occupied today.
