As a SNAP Education Program Assistant at Oregon State University Extension I teach nutrition education in Union County Schools, teach kids cooking classes, gardening classes and provide food demos at food banks and other acceptable sites. I have been with OSU for 8 1/2 years. This job requires excellent organizational skills, public speaking, time management, cooking skills and good communication skills. I take my job very seriously to ensure respect for teachers time. I provide lessons to the classrooms, I visit which is usually once a week per class and lasts for 9 weeks.
Assigning work is done by me based on the job request and the skill level required. Inspection and rating of work and performance is done by the owner as he is properly skilled in construction. Minor disciplinary concerns are handled by me and major concerns are escalated to the owner. Delegation of discipline is depending on severity and whether or not it is regarding construction flaws or billing/accounting/scheduling issues. Billing and service grievances are handled by me. Bookkeeping of all records, invoices, estimates, purchases, sales, answering phones, all banking ( paying bills, depositing checks and all bank records), entering everything into QuickBooks, preparing taxes and organizing and filing all office paperwork. Proficient with computers and quick to learn computer programs. Customer service on the phone or in person. Paper work is well organized. I am able to stay on task with or without supervision.
