As a full time deputy with the Lincoln Parish Sheriffs Office, I worked daily as a school resource officer within the local school district. This position included duties such as ensuring the safety of all students and faculty on campus by monitoring persons coming onto and leaving campus. Using my position to educate faculty and students on good safety practices, on and off campus, as well as creating a good relationship between young people and law enforcement. I regularly worked events throughout our community, including private security details as well as large sporting events at the local colleges.
As a full time school resource officer for the Bienville Parish Sheriffs Office, I worked daily within a primary and secondary educational setting. I established good relationships with faculty, staff, and students in order to ensure the safety of the campus. I assisted administration when needed for safety violations and concerns, and dealt with any criminal incidents when necessary. I also worked regularly on patrol within the departments jurisdiction, and assisted in the communications department when needed.
Conducted routine patrols throughout the City of Minden, as well as answer a variety of calls for services from the citizens. I was responsible for responding to motor vehicle accidents, securing the scene, gathering all needed information from persons involved, and working to clear the incident successfully. I worked alongside the investigations department to assist them with case work, as well as responding with the special response teams for warrant service. I provided weekly transportation of prisoners, ro and from city court, as well as provided security for the courtroom during such proceedings.
